Br. Nikolas Barth, OFM Cap Ordained to the Priesthood
On Saturday, November 16, 2024, Br. Nikolas Barth, OFM Cap, was ordained to the Capuchin priesthood at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church. The ordination Mass, celebrated by Bishop Matthew Elshoff, OFM Cap, was a powerful and deeply meaningful celebration of Br. Nikolas’ journey into religious life and his commitment to the Church.
Key Moments of the Capuchin Ordination Mass

There were many powerful moments during the Ordination Mass, including when Br. Nikolas lay prostrate on the altar during the Litany of Saints, symbolizing his full surrender to God. His fellow Capuchins vested him in the sacred priestly garments, and he received blessings from his brothers in faith. These moments, along with many others, marked the beginning of his new role as a Capuchin priest.

The Path to the Capuchin Priesthood
A native of Granada Hills, Br. Nikolas first encountered the values of St. Francis at our very own St. Francis High School. His discernment journey led him to the Capuchin order in 2014, where he has dedicated his life to serving God and the Church through prayer, humility, and service.
