The Capuchin Franciscans Western America Province welcomes Fr. Hung Nguyen, OFM Cap, a native of Vietnam, who recently returned to California to St. Francis of Assisi Friary in Burlingame as Guardian after serving in missionary work for the last 4 years.
Since joining the Province, Fr. Hung has worked with prisoners at San Quentin State Prison as well as the sick at several hospitals in California. Br. Hung has ministered to Vietnamese youth and the Vietnamese communities in San Francisco Bay Area and also served as the chaplain of St. Francis High School in La Canada-Flintridge, CA.
“I have found the joy and the fulfillment in the people I encounter and minister to in my Capuchin ministry. The way of life as a Capuchin brother allows me to experience life with new eyes and a freedom in which choices are not risks but opportunities to learn more about what God has in store for me.”
